What should I expect on my first massage visit?
Prior to your first visit to CG Sports Therapy, a medical consultation form will need to be completed and emailed across to cg.sportstherapy@hotmail.com so the document can be reviewed.
On your first session, the therapist will run through the itinerary to inform you of what will go on.

Do I have to be undressed?
The therapist will ask you to undress to the level that you are comfortable with. Towels will be provided for your dignity and comfort. The towels will be covering you, however the therapist may need to rearrange them with specific draping techniques per the anatomical area.

What do I do during a treatment?
Relax and make yourself comfortable! The therapist will be performing the massage and communicating to you what is needed.

How long do massages last?
All massages last 45 minutes, however the appointment will last one hour. A medical consultation commences the appointment and the paperwork is reviewed by the therapist. The massage then takes 45 minutes and the appointment is concluded by post care advice.

Do they hurt?
This depends on the depth of the strokes. Massages with light strokes are relaxing and do not hurt. However other types of massage, for example, treatment of injuries can be a little uncomfortable, however they do assist with the injury.

How often should I get a massage?
Massage has a lot of benefits, but the frequency that you get a massage is completely up to you!

How will I feel after my massage?
Massages promote the flow of blood around the body so it is expected that you can feel tired.
It may be that you feel sore the next day, like you have been to the gym and had a workout, this is completely normal, just rest and have a hot shower to ease the muscular soreness.

Please drink lots of water to keep the muscles hydrated.

What happens if I am ill?

If you have a cold or a contagious skin infection, then please don’t book a massage as these can prevent you from enjoying the massage.
