week 10

I HAVE 3 WEEKS LEFT OF MY FIRST SEMESTER, I AM TIRED AND I NEED TO REST.

Monday started with THE MOST POINTLESS LECTURE EVER on lower limb injuries. Talking about the lecturers travels around the world through physiotherapy. "yeah great lecture pal, thought we were on Sports Therapy course not geography".
ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS. I STRUGGLED TO GET OUT OF BED THIS MORNING AND I CAME IN FOR THIS?!

It was the same with Tuesday's clinic lecture about reflective writing. Throughout this year, we have to do 8 reflective pieces about every 10 hours of placement. Currently i have done 2 reflective pieces, which i am just waiting for significant learning experiences to occur so i can write more.

Wednesday is my second session in clinic during the second rotation. It started ok, with a patient coming in with back pain, we assessed the patient which was a good opportunity to observe a spine examination. I performed the objective measures where I measures the ranges of movement with a tape measure.

Thursdays session considered injuries and healing. Again, i switched off, i just want to get home.
The only thing i remember is that Osteoblasts build bone and Osteoclasts clean up debris.
I have started my examination and assessment flash cards for both exams of the spine.
In the practicle we drew on the nerves of upper and lower limb with biro which was a laugh.
We learnt how to test upper and lower limb dermatomes on a bilateral basis.
L1 is too intimate to test, L2 is in line with the adductors, L3 stops at the knee, L4 to the floor, L5 from the side. I’m actually super please that I came up with the L3 dermatome rhyme to be included in the lecturers rap. Green,2017!

In women active we threw it right back to school with bench ball. What a fab game.

Friday consisted of kinesiology which I love. We did a lecture about ankle sprains and postural stability which was pretty good. In the practicle we were analysing GPS data and player load which was ok. It was our lecturers data for a paper he is proposing.

This weekend is going to be spent doing a lot of uni work, from the last assignment to the a and p flash cards.
And some idiot (myself) signed up for a 5k run with my dad, who is physically fitter than me, which should be fab... SARCASM.
